Calendar and Field Trips

Forest Hill Nature Preschool & Childcare provides parents with a calendar of special events for the entire school from the first weeks of school.  Click here for the calendar on the school website.  In addition, your child’s teacher may send home dates for special events in the classroom, snack and cooking projects, or parties and celebrations.  Please add these dates to your calendar as well.

In order to enrich the preschool program that we are able to offer our students, we plan several field trips throughout the year for children in the 2s, 3s, 4s, and Kindergarten programs.    Adult chaperones are welcome to join us for field trips, and each child in our 2-year-old program MUST have an adult chaperone accompany them on field trips.   We will be limiting the number of chaperones we take on field trips for the 3, 4, and Kindergarten classes to help us limit group sizes and exposures.  We will open a sign-up for chaperones in the classroom prior to the trip date and take reservations on a first-come, first-served basis. The cost for your students to attend trips was included in your child's registration fee. Chaperones may incur an additional cost to attend a trip depending upon chaperone fees charged by the field trip venue locations--this information will be provided before each trip.

We will be chartering a school bus for each trip that is scheduled during the year.  For most trips we anticipate having plenty of room on the bus for parent chaperones to join us.  If you would like to transport your child to a field trip instead of having him or her ride the bus, that is fine.  Please make every effort to leave at the same time as the bus, avoid making any additional stops on the way, and try to reconnect with the group quickly upon arrival on location.  In most cases we will not be able to start our trip until all students have arrived.

For a complete list of field trips scheduled during the year, please see the school calendar posted on the school website and the “Field Trips & Special Events” page on the school website.
