Dressing Your Child for Weather and Play
Please remember that your children will be playing outside every day, weather permitting. The teachers may take the children out to play in light rain or wet conditions—those are the best puddle jumping days! We will take the children out to play in cold weather and hot weather, although the teachers may make adjustments to the time spent outside depending on the temperature. We will take the children out to play in the snow (we LOVE to play in the snow!). Please take the weather into consideration when you dress your child for the day. As the weather gets cooler, jackets and coats will be necessary for your child to bring to school. In the winter, your child will need a hat, gloves or mittens, and boots to play in the snow.
We strongly recommend providing your child with a “muddy buddy” suit during the school year. These are extremely helpful in keeping your child dry and clean when we play in the mud. They can be purchased at Kohl’s and Bed Bath and Beyond, as well as online through amazon.com and zulily.com.
At school we plan many fun, age-appropriate activities for your children throughout the day and these are sometimes messy. Please be sure to send your child in clothes that can get messy. We will try to prevent your child from ruining clothing with paint or permanent marker, but it can be very stressful to a child if they are sent to school with instructions to stay clean or to not mess up their clothing. If your child needs to wear something special for an activity at school, the teachers will send home a note or email to let you know in advance.
