Photo Release

One of the best technological advancements for preschool teachers is the digital camera. Your children will be doing many fabulous  things throughout their day and we know that you as parents treasure a sneak peek into your child's day. Our teaches are using Brightwheel to share photos and videos of the children in class with parents throughout the day. Some classes may also set up private Facebook groups to share photos and updates from the class.  These photos will be available only to other parents of children in your child's  class. At the beginning of the year, we send home a photo release form  for you to complete for your child. On the form, you will have several options  to choose from to maintain your child's security. You may choose to allow:

  • Pictures of your child posted only in the classroom and in projects your child completes
  •  Pictures  posted in the classroom and on Brightwheel,  shared with you and other class parents
  • Pictures posted  on private Facebook pages shared with other class parents
  • Pictures  posted  on public pages of the school website
  •  No  pictures taken of your child

If you are opposed to photos of your child being taken by the teachers, I do ask that you seriously consider the consequence for your child in the classroom before you decide to prohibit all photos. Documenting the process of learning by taking pictures of the children and making them available for
children in the classroom in the form of projects or storyboards is a powerful learning tool for young children.
