School & Home Communication

As partners in your child’s development, it is important for the school and parents to maintain consistent and open communication throughout the school year.  At FHNP we use Brightwheel, a parent communication app that parents can download onto your phone.  Brightwheel allows the teachers to send photos, videos, and notes about what the children are learning and doing at school each day.  There is also a messaging feature in Brightwheel that allows parents and teachers to communicate directly.   Email is our primary form of communication from the school office—it is paperless, immediate, and easily accessible.  Teachers will upload lesson plans into the "Learning" section of Brightwheel to share what the children are doing each day.  Some teachers may also send home an email at the end of each week giving information about what is planned in your child’s classroom for the following week.  The administration will send important information home by email as necessary.  We ask that parents please plan to check your email regularly for school communications.

Infants/Toddlers

In the infant and toddler program, Brightwheel allows the teachers to log the children's diaper changes, naps, and feedings so that parents can easily track their child's care.

Infants and Toddlers will also be assessed by teachers on an ongoing basis, progress will be shared in daily notes and through use of the Ages and Stages developmental screening tools completed at home and shared regularly with teachers.
