Field Trips and Special Events
At Forest Hill Nature Preschool, we recognize the importance of enriching our students' daily curriculum and experiences with trips and other special events. For this reason, we plan many events during the year. In the 2022/23 school year.
Chick Hatching Project
Quiver Farm in PA will send a farmer to preschool on to bring an incubator with 12 eggs for us to take care of. This year's presentation is a video shared by the farmers to help the children learn about being chick parents. The children will have the opportunity to watch the baby chicks hatch, to hold them, feed them, and play with them before they return to the farm. We are planning Chick Hatching project set ups in the front lobby by the Preschool entrance. They will arrive Wednesday 9/28 and will be here for 1 week. 
FHNP Fall Festival - 10/19 & 10/20
We will host a In-house Fall Festival. During the school day the children will be able to enjoy some fun Fall activities outside. 
National Aquarium - 1/13
The 3A, 3B, 3C & 3-4 classes will travel to the National Aquarium in Baltimore where we will explore some underwater creatures. 
Arts on Stage - 2/10
The 4A, 4B, 4C & K classes will travel to Goucher college to see a performance of Cirque de Zuma Zuma 
Plumpton Park - 4/13, 4/20, 4/21 & 4/28
All classes will travel to Plumpton Park Zoo where we will enjoy some animals and have a picnic lunch. 4/13 - 4A & 4C classes 4/20 - 4B, K & 3-4 classes 4/21 - 2A, 2B & 2C classes 4/28 - 3A, 3B & 3C classes 
Preschool Graduation
May 22: 4A Class May 23: 4B Class May 24: 4C Class May 25: K Class Parents and family members are welcome to join us at Forest Hill Nature Preschool from 4-5 PM to celebrate the graduation of our preschool 4-year-olds & Kindergarten class. We will begin with a short ceremony followed by refreshments. |
Maize Quest Field Trip - 10/7, 10/11 & 10/17
We will learn about fall crops, take a hayride to the pumpkin patch where we will pick a pumpkin. We will also play in the corn maize and have a picnic lunch. 10/7 - All 2's classes 10/11 - 4A, 4B, 4C & K classes 10/17 - 3A, 3B, 3C & 3-4 classes 
Angel's Song - 12/8
Quiver Farm will come to our location for the Angel's Song presentation. They will bring with them some farm animals to help tell the story of the birth of Jesus. 
We Rock the Spectrum -
2/1, 2/8, 2/15 & 2/22 The 2's and 3's classes will travel to We Rock the Spectrum where they will enjoy the indoor play area. 2/1 - 2A & 2B classes 2/8 - 2C & 3A classes 2/15 - 3B & 3C classes 2/22 - 3-4 class 
Arts on Stage - 3/2
The 3A, 3B, 3C & 3-4 classes will travel to Goucher College to see a performance of The Cat in the Hat 
5Anita C. Leight Estuary -
5/11, 5/12, 5/18 & 5/19 The 3's and 3-4 classes will visit Anita Estuary Center. We will learn about reptiles , seeds and polliwogs. We will also enjoy a picnic lunch. 5/11 - 3A class 5/12 - 3B class 5/18 - 3 C class 5/19 - 3-4 class 
Ladew Gardens - 5/9, 5/15
The 4's and Kindergarten classes will visit Ladew Gardens. We will enjoy the beautiful topiaries and have a picnic lunch. 5/9 - 4A & 4C classes 5/15 - 4B & K classes |
