Our son has now been a student at FHNP for about 6 weeks and enrolling him there has without a doubt been one of the best decision we ever made. At his previous daycare facility, my wife and I used to argue about who should drop him off at school in the morning because it was such a difficult task being that he was miserable there. As soon we drove into the parking lot at his old daycare, he would begin crying and would cling to us as we tried to bring him into his classroom. We would have to sneak out the back door so that he wouldn’t see us and cry more. His teachers kept assuring us that it’s normal for him to cry because it’s a new environment for him. But even after a full year of going there, he was still miserable and he would still cry and cling to us when we dropped him off. But now that he’s at FHNP, he’s thrilled in the mornings to go to school. My wife and I don’t have to argue about who’s dropping him off because it’s so effortless. We drop him off at 7am for morning care and they are always doing fun things there. He no longer clings to us and we can actually say goodbye to him and give him a hug, instead of having to sneak out. His teachers give us status updates on how he does throughout the day, whether it be potty-training or with the various activities they do during the day. At the end of the day, when we pick him up, our son is so thrilled to tell us what he learned that day and show us the artwork he made. Just by looking at the various arts and crafts he brings home each day, one can easily notice the amount of passion and sincerity the teachers bring to the classroom.
Our plan is to keep our son at Forest Hill Nature Preschool right up until he begins Kindergarten – and we plan to enroll our 1-year old son as soon as he turns two!
